The Reader Room is a space for thoughtful discussion, meaningful connections, and shared passion for storytelling. To keep this community welcoming and enriching for everyone, we ask all members to follow these guidelines:

Respect: Treat fellow members with kindness and courtesy, even in disagreement
Focus: Keep discussions centered on Circus Bim Bom, its themes, characters, and related topics
Curiosity: Ask questions, share insights, and embrace diverse perspectives
Safety: Create an environment where all readers feel comfortable participating

Discussion Guidelines

What We Welcome:

Thoughtful analysis of story themes, characters, and symbolism
Questions about historical context, Soviet circus life, and Cold War era
Personal reflections on how the story resonates with you
Constructive discussion about writing craft and storytelling techniques
Recommendations for related books, films, or cultural materials
Questions for the author about the creative process

What We Don’t Allow:

Current political debates or partisan commentary (the book explores historical politics, but please keep modern political discussions out of the forums)
Self-promotion, advertising, or spam
Personal attacks, harassment, or disrespectful language
Off-topic discussions unrelated to the book or book club activities
Sharing copyrighted material without permission

Spoiler Courtesy

Use clear spoiler warnings when discussing major plot points
Give new readers space to discover the story at their own pace
In chapter-specific discussions, assume readers have reached that point

Proposing New Topics

We love member-initiated discussions! If you’d like to suggest a new forum topic or discussion theme, please post your idea in the Book Club Experience forum. We review suggestions regularly and will create new spaces as the community grows.

Don’t share others’ personal information
Keep private conversations private
Report concerning behavior to cliff@circusbimbom.com
Your email address is used only for forum notifications and book club communications

Moderation

The author and volunteer moderators reserve the right to edit or remove posts that violate these guidelines
Repeated violations may result in account suspension
We trust our community to self-moderate with respect and good judgment
